The American Indian Studies Program (AIS), with assistance from the School of Natural Resources and Environment (SNRE), is offering an academic Post-Baccalaureate Certificate in the administration and management of American Indian natural resources. To obtain the Certificate, students must complete a 12-unit program of study that includes core and thematic courses. The program is designed for students to begin in the fall and complete in one to two academic years.

Economics, Law, & the Environment

The first of its kind in the nation, Program on Economics, Law, & the Environment (ELE) is a collaborative reseach and education initiative of The University of Arizona's James E. Rogers College of Law and the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences. The program generates research on contemporary issues related to the use and conservation of environmental and natural resources, taking an innovative interdisciplinary approach to pair economic insights with theory, institutions, and practice of law.

The MPH degree is designed to be an interdisciplinary graduate, professional degree in public health. The MPH program provides opportunities for students to obtain broad knowledge and basic skills in the core areas of public health. Students are able to obtain the MPH degree through one of six concentration areas, including biostatistics, environmental and occupational health, epidemiology, health behavior and health promotion, public health policy and management, and family and child health.

Soil, Water and Environmental Science

Soil, Water, and Environmental Science offers three areas of emphasis: environmental science, soil science, and soil-plant-water relations. Areas of concentration in environmental science include environmental chemistry, environmental microbiology, contaminant transport, pollution management and remediation, water quality, and remote sensing of terrestrial ecosystems. Areas of concentration in soil science include soil physics; soil chemistry; soil biology; soil genesis, morphology, and classification; and soil mineralogy.

In the MS program, all students master a common core of work in ground water, surface hydrology, water quality, and water policy, planning, and management. Graduate students in hydrology and water resources may also take field and laboratory courses that give them hands-on experience with experiments in water chemistry, stream-flow gauging, and water-quality monitoring. The PhD program is designed for highly motivated students who may pursue teaching, research, or other technical careers where both breadth and depth of knowledge are important.
