The University of Arizona Association of Environmental and Engineering Geologists (UAAEG) is an engineering student group committed to providing our members experiential learning and professional networking in the earth engineering, environmental and hydrogeology fields.
Students Clubs and Groups
We are a student-run club dedicated to using our knowledge to improve the world we live in. We welcome students and professionals from all fields (not just engineering!).
The Environmental Law Society (ELS) works to promote student interest in and awareness of environmental issues affecting the local and global community. ELS takes a dynamic approach of viewing such issues through the legal lens with interdisciplinary discussions, meetings with local and national experts, panels, and films.
Water Brigades is a program of the international nonprofit, Global Brigades, the world’s largest student-led global health and sustainable development organization. Water Brigades volunteers assist in designing and implementing water systems to prevent water related illnesses in communities with limited access to clean water.
We are a committee of the Honors Student Council and work on sustainable initiatives within the Honors College and the community. Projects we are working on include establishing a student-run garden, adopting a park and planting trees, and other initiatives to green the UA and our community.
The Marine Awareness and Conservation Society(MACS) is a student organized club at the University of Arizona. We are devoted to promoting the conservation and protection of marine life and its oceans through education and volunteering for eco-friendly activities. A main purpose of MACS is to promote the education of local residents through community outreach programs that teach children the importance of marine ecosystems.
The Natural Resources Graduate Student Organization is a graduate student organization at University of Arizona’s School of Natural Resources and the Environment (SNRE) that provides a forum to share research, promote leadership, and encourage graduate student fellowship. We meet Thursdays in BSE 224 at 5:00pm for Graduate Student presentations, followed by happy hour, usually at No Anchovies on University Boulevard.
Eco-Reps are at the heart of the Residence Life Sustainability Program. They are volunteers from each residence hall who first learn about sustainable issues, then assist in educating others about sustainability. The Eco-Reps have a myriad responsibilities throughout the year, including helping with Earth Day events, Recycle Mania, Battle of the Utilities and more.
The Soil, Water and Environmental Science Club is a student run organization that serves to Build relationships between students and faculty, educate students and others about the environment, and connect students with professional organizations as well as the community.
Solar Cats is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization working to install photovoltaic solar paneling systems on U of A residence halls, starting with the Posada San Pedro hall.
The Student Environmental Health Sciences Association provides community outreach, networking and learning opportunities in Environmental Health Sciences for member students. Environmental health is the study of the relationship between chemical, biological and physical hazards in the environment that influence human health.
Students for Sustainability is a Student organization which empowers student leadership, pursues institutional sustainability, and promotes environmental awareness in the University of Arizona community.
