"Trees," a poem by W.S. Merwin, was recently featured at the UA Poetry Center's celebration of the 50,000th book added to its collection.
Culture and the arts can help catalyze a public response to environmental insecurities and risks, illuminate issues of environmental justice, and imagine more sustainable futures. The environment can in turn inspire creativity. UA faculty explore the natural world and its connections to humanity through literature, ecocriticism, creative writing, art history, and the visual and performing arts with strong connections to the community.
