Description
The MPH degree is designed to be an interdisciplinary graduate, professional degree in public health. The MPH program provides opportunities for students to obtain broad knowledge and basic skills in the core areas of public health. Students are able to obtain the MPH degree through one of six concentration areas, including biostatistics, environmental and occupational health, epidemiology, health behavior and health promotion, public health policy and management, and family and child health.
The DPH is an advanced, professional degree program that focuses on developing future leaders in public health practice, who will advance the public’s health through the integration and application of a broad range of knowledge and analytical skills in leadership, practice, policy analysis, research, program management, and professional communication.
The Graduate Certificate in Public Health is a distance-learning program at the UA Mel and Enid Zuckerman College of Public Health that offers working professionals a flexible and convenient option for advancing their public health training. The certificate is affiliated with the Master of Public Health (MPH) degree and consists of the five core courses that are required of all MPH graduates.
In addition, a MBA/MPH Dual Degree Program is offered jointly by the Mel and Enid Zuckerman College of Public Health and Eller College of Management. The dual degree program allows a student to earn a Master of Public Health (MPH) and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in three years upon the completion of a minimum of 75 to 79 units in public health andbBusiness.
